cost me $1800 for parts to make my 35 a 55hp got heads, exhuast, and carb at the Boat Doctor right there in harahan, great service. did the labor my self, but they can do it for you. I saw good improvements on take off and load carrying the most wich is what i needed, my top end gains was +4mph

you paid $1800 to get 4 mph more???? you did the labor yourself??? probably would have cost you at least $3600 or more, if u got the mechanic to do it for u!!! i guess to each his own, not me, bra????

4 mph is a big improvement on a rig like that, but more important is the load carrying benefits that those mods will give u.

Well i did not have a choice, beleive it or not with 3 people and gear i would not get on plane when i was against current in a deep canal on a big 17ft southfork high sides all foamed with aluminum floor. i had to hit the bank and then i slowly would get up and then supprisingly hit 24 mph. surface drives have nooooo take off, cause the wheels are pitched to run half in half out. so on take off its all in. If you have a small load its ok you wont feel it. now my family and i are some big guys too. so i did it mainly for the take off wich does fine now with the extra hp. trust me i had a hard time spending the money, if they would have made a bigger hp when i bought it i would have bought it.
