LOADING EDGE FILES ON ONE MEMORY CARD
~ Captain Paul's response to: ~ RFSTUART~
The data file of Captain Paul EDGE of Fishing GPS WAYPOINTS for your unit, in your case the Lowrance .USR file is a very small file when compared to today’s computers. The actual downloadable data file (.usr) range from 20 to 90 KB. One memory card with 500MB of memory can hold almost all of the Edge DATA files.
The data including waypoints, tracks and routes are shown only when transferred to the internal memory of your unit. This is done via the MENU option in your unit.
The GPS unit will only show those waypoints which were transferred from the card into the internal memory of the unit. If you transfer all, all will be visible. To have one EDGE file or another viewed on your screens, you would have to delete the present file which would include all waypoints, tracks and routes and load another.
I suggest that you SAVE the data in your unit by transferring it to the card before deleting all of the information.
In loading the data to a card, BE SURE to give each file a specific name. Having two files with the same name will not work.
Do not use the MAP card, as you can sometimes overwrite the map images when copying data to the card. This would in fact ruin the map card.
