places to fish around Baton Rouge

Reply

I recently bought an old 10ft aluminum boat and I do not have any type of motor. I got it to use in a family pond but I was curious if anyone knew of some spots around Baton Rouge I could throw it in the back of my truck and drive to and it would be safe and not to much to paddle. I am looking to fish for bass, sac-a-lait, and maybe some catfish. Also If you know of any places to fish from the bank around baton rouge. I am a student at LSU and I don't mind driving a little bit for some fun fishing. Help me escape finals week, any advice would be great!

You could fish the bridge and docks in the no wake zone arounds Sportsman's Landing in Belle Rose. Less than 1 hour away.

Fishing
Bayview landing on Hwy 16 in Port Vincent. If you put in there, go oposite of the bridge (go left), and work your way up the creek, there's some spots to fish. I see people fishing out of kayaks in there all the time. Just be on the look out for the boats. It gets kinda narrow in spots.

thanks
thanks for the tips I will have to look into those places. Also has anyone ever tried the pond in the Back of the BREC Burbank soccer fields by the dog park area? on google maps it looks like you could also walk from there to access the larger neighborhood pond behind that one, anyone ever tried?
