I have a 1756 wedlbilt semi v. Its set up for duck hunting and fishing. I am trying to decide whether to go with a gator tail or pro drive. It had a go-devil sd 35 on it but I have found that reverse is simply a must. Most of my hunting and fishing will be in deeper water where a surface drive is not really needed. But there will be times when I am in shallow water or running through heavy vegitation or 'thick stuff'. Both motors appear to be built well but I guess it all depends on what you want. I prefer top end speed over getting through really bad stuff. I doubt I will ever attempt a true mud flat or anything like that. In the end, I may just go with an outboard with a jack plate but I wanted some opinions on these two motors first. Thanks in advance.
