Trailer and 4 wheeler
4 wheeler
I am not friends with anyone with a light plane but I do have several friends in different sheriffs' offices. I had them check the National Crime Information Center database to see if my VINs were entered. Imagine that, they never were even though they were given twice by phone and once by email.
What is right and what is wrong has little to do with what happens around a court house. He who has the most votes and or campaign contributions usually wins . The local sheriff's dept knows you cant vote for them, but they may guess that the thief and his family and friends can . Therefore if the thief is never caught the thief and his family will not be angry at the sheriff's dept for doing their son / brother /uncle or friend wrong . The above may not be correct concerning your case but remember you are an outsider etc etc etc and not a local . Could be they were too lazy to enter the vin numbers into NCIC or negligent and forgot. Either way you need to get them entered . Did you have the 4 wheeler insured ? If it was insured was it covered while being stored away from home? The coverage is a question I would like to see answered . Good luck I hope you find the trailer and 4 wheeler .
I have gotten three calls in regards to this. Unfortunately none were leads but all were from people that had similar things happen to them in the general area and were steamed about it. We have been hit 4 times in 4 years for a total loss of a little over $50,000. The club 1/2 mile down the road the same, not sure on their losses. I hunted with my uncle as a child around Liberty, same problem, around Roxie in my 20s, same problem, and now in Claiborne county. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Therefore, I have tried something a little different this time. I have contacted every Mississippi representative and senator that I thought might have some interest in helping us out, not only the representatives of the area but also the representatives on certain commitees. For example: FORESTRY COMMITTEE, we spend 45k annually for our lease. WILDLIFE, FISHERIES, AND PARKS, we spend 12k annually on licenses. This is the numbers for one club. It is easy to see that as a group we do have a voice. Some of the representatives have replied and seem sympathetic and willing to help if they can. This is where I need help. I need to put together a list of stolen property from hunting camps over the past 5 years, recovered and not recovered. Please be as specific as possible and include Make, model, color, VIN if applicable, location of crime, location of owner. Please no second and third hand stories, only data that I can share with the representatives. I appreciate your help.
Putting this ad in the local newspaper and/or the local nickel ads may help. Good luck.
