The power of those fish is just amazing. We use heavy duty rods with 30 lb test line and they will flat wear you out. You seldom ever bring up the fish on the same side of the boat that you hook them on. They will make multiple runs and strip line off the reel like crazy. The black drum usually give more of a steady pull, sort of like trying to reel in a tree from the bottom. Either way, just one fish will give you quite a workout. When you catch one after another, it will test just how much you can take before tapping out. I love all types of fishing, but this is definitely one of my favorites.
