I took this picture last year on my hunting lease measured 3 1/4 inches wide ( no house cat )

You are 100% correct, that is not no house cat!Its a dog, maybe a coyote but a canid for sure

Dog or coyote
A cat's claws are retracted when they walk and hardly ever show up in their tracks.

dog tracks
it is a dog --4 toenails show in track-- on a coyote usually only the middle 2 toenails show on mud tracks --look it up--I saw it in Outdoor Life years ago in an article showing how differentiate between dog and coyote and wolf tracks .If the outside toenails do show they will be faint. Also coyote tracks are more pointed and dog tracks more rounded.

looks like coyote tracks to me! The four 'finger' prints are round on a cat track
