Me
Big 'un from last year.
I read the old report u put up yesterday and thank you Mr. Trent. The stupidity of people about the trash probably made u pull it but we had spoken via e-mail before...unfortunately people don't realize that it makes fish habitat very well, used your method but people found my hole and fish it all the time now...it worked until several located it, LOL. Still holds fish to this day, think I will go with cottonseed cake for attractor and the chicken wire thing too. This time it will be a closely guarded fishing hole, LOL. Again thank you. Anyone else have anything else for baiting a bream hole?
cans of cheap wet style dog food with holes punched or drilled thru them , five gallon bucket with holes drilled into it and filled with dry all stock food , add a couple of bricks to sink it , willow branches wrapped into bundles , this provides habitat for grass shrimp and minnows which draw the perch , this was also the old way of catching soft shell crabs , Christmas tree work really well when you can get them , and if you can get them cracked calms or cracked crabs which is a old school shrimp draw .................. the chicken wire perch burrito wrap works , I remember when I was a kid and use to go down to Braithwaite and fish the 40 Arpent Canal , they use to do the Burrito Wraps and some times as soon as you walked up it was on and somtimes you never got a bite , so they would pull up on the rope and violently shake the wire tube under the water and stir it up good , we would fish the other spots and come back a hour or so later after the water settled and they would be there , one problem was I lost many of hooks to the wire .............. another thing I know that draws in perch is shoping carts , the longer that they are in the water and the funkier they get the better
I have seen folks use a basket attached to the top of a pole drove in the bottom, and they'd toss fish guts from cleaning in the basket, flys lay eggs, maggots fall into the water, feeding the fish a nearly pure protien supply of maggots.
You'd need a stomach made of iron to get too close or else clothes pins on yer nose.. LOL !
