Chris, biggest thing is play the wind, bring some good snips with you and listen, listen, listen.

Get off the beaten path if you can and get in there where they feel protected.

They are noisy as hell and generally move in groups. If you play the wind right you can get right up near them. Bring some snips so you can get to them.

Their sniffers are their best defense, eyes not too good at all, their hearing is ok.
