One thing to tell you... WIND DIRECTION! They dont move much in the mid day unless effected by feed or driving methods. Fresh rooting will be visited late in the evenings but only a few times till they move on. HOGS TRAVEL ALOT. sometimes up to a few miles a day to get food. Early mornings they will be on the trails working towards bedding areas and they lay up in thick places while the sun is up. and if you spook one give up on that pig. They dont stop like deer... They keep on trucking till they are well out of the area. When they are feeding you can sneek fairly close depending on the cover. They hear better and smell better than deer but when they feed they are louder than turkeys on an oak ridge, and all attention is on the ground. Best chance to stalk up on one is if they are bedding and feeding in the area if not they will only be there at night or just pass thru. Good luck and aim for the head
I've had a lot of success paying attention to scent control and the wind. They are usually pretty loud when they feed. I carry a grunt call and quietly grunt as I sneak in on them. You'll never be quiet so instead make them think they are hearing another hog. I've got within 10yds on numerous occasions when it's thick cover. I always use a bow or pistol. Lots of pork in the freezer.
you should pm the 'swinestalker' he is putting a hurtin on them
