I found this buck on trail cam three days before the rifle season. I hunted the last 3 days of black power season with my bow and only saw small bucks and does. The first 8 days I passed on four younger 8 pts one was a heavy 3 ½ year old. Then on Sat evening 11/5 I was waiting for some does to clear out before I left my stand when he walked out at only 40 yards from me but was too dark to shoot. He was only 20 yards from a bow stand that I had hunted earlier when I last saw him. He then disappeared till Thanksgiving week when my buddy had him on his trail cam one night and then gone again. I hunted there on 12/9, 10 &11 with more deer than I could count showing up at that stand but not the big one. The next week I checked my trail cam and he showed up there on 12/12 at 7:12 till 7:54 only 20 yards from the bow stand again but I was not there. I hunted there on 12/16 and watched small bucks and does. The next morning I was watching 5 does on the hill side and the early morning light and the leaf cover made it hard to see them so I looked out the window and used the binoculars to check and see if any more deer show up and saw him standing 90 yards away. I placed the crosshairs on his shoulder and he did not take another step.
