Fist bow kill finally!
Well after 6 years of making bowhunts it finally happened I arrowed my first deer up at Huntrs place in Tensas Monday about 4:30. Huntr had a spike buck that didnt seem like he was quite right kind of thin an an older spike, he wanted killed if I saw him. At about 4:15 he popped out the woods milled around and was headed my way as he went behind some brush I drew on him and as he popped out in my lane at 25 yards, remembered all the usual stuff anchor points and what not as my eye found him in the peep site I touched the string to my nose put my first pin just behind the shoulder and let it fly. Arrow burried in right behing the shoulder as he turned to run I could already see bright red blood starting to flow a minute or two later he was in the thick palmettos I gave him about a half hour to peter out climbed down a few feet from where he stood I found a drop of blood then a four inch circle then into the palmettos it looked like a murder scene Blood highway on the palmettos led me right to him I guess in total he went 30-40 yards and was piled up. Not the biggest deer I have ever killed but my first bow kill and having waited so long to get it done will always be special. Before this I missed every way you could miss somehow in fact I felt like I may never do i! Monday I was able to retain my composure and get it done. No pic yet as Im having computer issues with the file> Hopefully huntr will tag the pic when he sees this tonight. Thanks agin to Mr and Mrs Huntr.

It always thrills and amazes me how a usually calm, laidback person can get sooo excited. Just goes to show its about how big a challenge, not how big the horns. Bowhunting is the great equalizer. Congrats on a perfect shot.
