Tracking a Bobcat
Hey guys, I shot a bobcat tonight just before the storm hit and unfortunately I wasn't able to recover it. I shot it with my crossbow at 10 yards. It appeared to be a good hit and the arrow had good blood on it but minutes after I shot the sky opened up. I'm going back to look in the morning and I was wondering if anyone had experience tracking these critters? I'm curious if I should also be looking in the tree tops, in stumps, holes, etc. I've shot 4 cats in the past, 3 with my rifle and 1 with my bow, all 4 dropped where I shot them. Any info would be appreciated.

looks like a good hit
that cat didnt go far i can tell you he sure didnt climb in a tree he is probably in some thickcover or against a old log. i'd say with a shot like that nomore than 100yds from where u shot him

We went back today and found him. He doubled back down a trail and ended up 20 yards from the stand. If it wasn't for the smell we may not have found him. I appreciate the help.

i woud head lst direction u seen him going then look for any sign and more than likely blood will be washed away.never seen em try to climb trees when hit but look thick thick brush and look around any water source in area if shot was far back could go for water they hard to track spec no blood from look of hit he shouldnt be far less than 80 yards good luck let us know what u come up with
