Can you win guns in Louisiana ?
Anybody ever heard of this before where you can win a gun for $50 ?
I heard Morehouse Humane Society is conducting a fundraiser to improve and expand the facilities
to handle pets awaiting adoption.
They say they are raffling 1 ticket for 52 gun drawings. (giving away one each week in 2012). Raffle tickets are $50, that is less than a dollar a gun and you can win 1 or all 52. I hadn't heard of this kind of raffle before.
Apparently 1000 numbered tickets will be sold. Every Saturday at 10 PM the Louisiana lottery pick 3 number will be the winning number. If
your ticket matches you win the gun of the week. There will be 30-06, 270, 30-30, 12
ga., 20 ga, 22 LR, 308, all kinds of guns. Pick-up is at Simmons Sporting goods in
Bastrop, which I have heard of.
They say make checks payable to Morehouse Humane Society, write or call (318) 614-2349 / (318) 281-3794. email - morehousehumanesociety@comcast.net
They just want a Name, mailing address and phone number to contact you when you win and send you the ticket.

Yes, typically an organization that is raffling guns has partnered up with a local shop that has an FFL. When you win the gun, you will go to the designated shop for the paperwork. Ducks Unlimited and Delta Waterfowl do this for all their banquets.
