I guess HUNTARD stalks Mountain Lions??? He must be a Mountain Lion guide from WAY BACK??? He probably stalks all of his game, probably hunts deer in the giant forest with no 'FEED', and just jumps on them from above like an Eagle???
Nice Lion !!! Be proud of your accomplishment, and dont let the Big Green head of JEALOUSY keep you from hunting !!! Keep up the good work, and the rest of the hunters on this site THANK YOU for posting a video that most of us can only dream about being part of.
Thanks to Jodie and Brandon.
Opinions ahh this isn't were I post my comments? Such as you are an overweight officer? K I will stop.
I do not do any of those things, because I am not on a TV show. As for it being a challenge to walk up a MTN in Co. Please! Try coming on a deployment to Afghan, Ill show you hard walking. Honestly Im not here to argue. I just was hoping to see a good show by both hunter and prey. I didn't see that. Sorry truth hurts.
I was going to start a thread on this earlier after seeing many folks use their military status in their plea for this or a favor for that or a reason why your opinion is better than mine. Maybe I will start a thread later, but let me test the waters with a comment.
I'm not sure why it bothers me, but every time a member of the military posts their status to get access to a trip or to get in line for a lease, I get annoyed.
Please don't take this a knock on our men who serve--I have the utmost respect for the sacrifices you make/made/will make. But please exercise some humility and don't use it as a begging tool or a prop to give yourself credibility. It just comes off badly. My two cents...
I was talking about the vertical height of the MTNS and overall terrain. Which if you ever walk or maybe run? You wouldnt be out of wind going up a small snow covered hill.
@drew Saying 'Afghanistan' auto puts me into a military slot? (I am) but there are also alot of civi's over there. P.S. I do it for the pay and college money not for 'freebies' or 'favors'
-Jailbirds = best killers; Thiefs = best supply guys. Its a wierd logic.
@JB Ok.
@Motorboat Just like everything in life one bad egg can ruin the lot. I agree alot of people abuse there status. But you cant judge someone unless you walk in their shoes.
Anyway happy hunting Im going explore new fourms.
'None of us have ever stepped foot on terrain that isn't flat and dry. Thanks for you mercenary service though. You've been a great asset.'
Really now? I think you have stepped in mud, sand, and water just living in our lovely state. Those are not 'flat and dry'. Mercenary? Really? Well guess that sounds better then 'Hero'. Awe you think I'm great how cute of you.
Huntard,at least your honest, you joined for the money and college funds. The problem with guys in the military today is that they dont actually do it to 'serve thier country' like they used to.Back in the day men would join b/c they wanted to make this a better place and it didnt get thrown around lightly! Now its either about the money b/c they cant get a job or they're pushed into it by the law! For those of you that dont fit that category many thanks go out to you and your familys!!
Nice job on the couger kill,I love huntin behind a good pack of hounds!!
...some guy in the barber shopp last week said he seen both military and prison life...only difference was clothing and money ???...I kept my mouth shut foe 'da rest of 'da haircut !!!...while everybody was silently 'look'n' at each other ???...he also made the statement that people don't 'give' their lives...it's 'taken' ??? cheers ???
P/S...I think it was Andy Rooney said once:...'He didn't know if the kids on the corner was 'Teenagers' or 'Hoodlums'...only the 'Journalist' knew ??? cheers
People join for duty, honor, and country still. But most of those guys are Marines.
I agree with the guy in the hair cut shop. We have a guy right now who likes it better in jail then coming to work (hes been in jail for 3 months) and hes getting paid, cant beat that.
As for joining for college and a career? I think it was a good choice. I have 0 debt, a degree, and a career. In addition I still get money to go back to school and further my degree.
Anyway last post grats on cougar kill, going shoot my new bow :D
What I do not understand is how a post about a great hunt turned into a discussion about the military and prisons. I do not believe anyone here or elsewhere should ever make a generalized negative comment about our military.
Death and fighting are not some abstract terms that can be thrown around. They are real experiences unfortunely shared by too many soldiers. Until someone has experienced those events in real fashion, not on a video game, internet or magazine they should just shut-up about our soldiers.
Why someone joins is not material, what they did after they join is really all that matters.
Believe me war is real, and it does leave a lasting memory, and not a very good one. Whether you joined for the love of your country, the desire for a better education or you were forced to by some judge who never saw a real life battle in his life, does not really matter--You will still wake up sweating, trying to catch your breath in the middle of the night decades later.
Congrats Jodie! Nice lion.
