LDWF fishing closures
Is it just me or does the closure of amberjack during snapper season sound ridiculous. You would think they would have as many offshore recreational seasons open at the same time as possible to reduce 'bycatch/mortality' and help fishermen make their trips as efficient as possible....saving lots of gas.
If there is a reason for this, other than someone's opinion, please educate me.

Closure
In all likelihood they are still going to close it early. The only justification for the June closure was to satisfy the boys in Florida.

The feds did this so that there will be popular fish to catch all year long. If they would have left Amberjack open during snapper season, they were saying they would have has to close it 3 months later in the year instead of just 2 months as it is.
