Crawfish Boil

I am looking for something new to put in my crawfish boil this year. Yall tell me what trimmings do yall put in your crawfish boil. The trimmings I tried before are : corn, potatoes, sausage, meatball, green beans, mushrooms, garlic, hot dogs...are a few. What else is out there that goes good with a crawfish boil. Start thinking and let me know.

lets see

Ive had a whole artichoke and asparagus. Ive heard you can use pretty much any canned vegtable you like you just have to take the paper off, clean the can and punch holes in it. Never tried it though.

Crawfish

Why would anyone want more than the crawfish, garlic and sausage??? No better eating than those 3 things!!!!!!!!!!!! The wife gets mad though, you tend to smell after eating 2 or 3 entire bulbs of garlic.

Eggs

Drop them in the boiling water for a few minutes. Then when you drop the crawfish in the shells will crack and they soak up all the seasoning.

Giovenco's Deer Tamales

Place a dozen in a stocking have ready before you start the boil. When you turn the heat off drop these little jewels in the soak cycle. Pull out before you dump crayfish on the table. And Enjoy

something new

I have recently eaten pineapples at a crawfish boil. They took wole pineapples, cut the green stem off, and poked holes all around it. When the crawfish start comming to a boil, they added them in, let boil and soak with crawfish. really was pretty good

Sorry about your situation.

Pertaining to crab boil, I second the chicken breast and thighs comment.

crawfish boil?

i can't believe no-one said whole onions and celery!!! to be honest, anything thats edible will be great!!! my wife hates me, when we boil crawfish, because i eat so many onions!!! never tried it, but will, eggs!!!! i will boil them on the stove first and peel them! about 2 minutes before i turn the fire off on the crawfish, crabs or shrimp, i will put the eggs in a bag and put them in the old pot and let them boil some more!!! when you turn the fire off, let them soak with the crawfish or whatever!!! my wife will hate me even more!!!! onions and boiled eggs, whooa!!! the only thing that won't taste good, is the old kitchen sink!!!

if you try the egg thing, b4 me, please post on here and let us know how they are!!! i know they will be great!!! do you put boiled eggs in a crawfish, shrimp or crab stew, some super great!!! if you don't and if you do next time, just make sure you put enuf eggs, so fights don't break out, over the eggs!!! just boil them first and peel them and when you throw you're crawfish or whatever in your pot, throw your boiled eggs in too!! man it hurts so good!!!

leave out

leave out the sausage, hotdogs, beef, etc. They make everything oily. Lemons, oranges, onions, celery, corn, then a bottle of lemon oil. After your traditional seasoning and salt.

passthru69, you make a good point!! it all taste the same no matter what is boiled in the ole pot!!!! its all about the seasoning!! a pair of drawers would probably taste just as good as anything else?? just make sure they are new drawers not used!!!! but then again, that water and seasoning will probably kill any parasite and germ on planet earth!!!!!!!!!!!
