First and Second Buck ever killed
Just started deer hunting late last season, on a small plot of family property(Grosse Tete, LA), and my first killed was an 80lbs doe. Well, this season I've stepped it up a bit. I killed my first buck ever with a rifle at a distance of 15yds on 12/27/10. It was 9-pts and 200lbs. The very next time I went hunt (1/16/11), I went to the same stand. I killed another buck at 11-pts and 193lbs....with my .50 Desert Eagle PISTOL! One shot in the neck dropped him right where he stood. (It was a shame to find that 3 points were recently broken due to fighting but will reconstruct from recent game camera photos)I used a combination of bleats and grunts to bring him in close enough (25yds) for the kill. I think I'll be coasting on this high for the next decade of hunting to come.
