My Dad did the same thing 13 years ago. He was a quick learner, it hasn't happened since!

Went to the ER. They just cleaned it and wrapped it up. Said there was no way to suture it. I've got an appt with the ortho re: the bone.

Hit low and to the left. I'll have to wait to sight it in until I get this bandage off my thumb.

It actually does not hurt as much as you would think. It was numb most of yesterday.

I used to sell crossbows. Had a guy do the same thing two shots in a row while trying one out, after I warned about it twice. Talk about a slow learner! Bought the crossbow and headed to the E.R. It was UGLY!

One thing about when a man hurts himself doing something...... no matter how bad a memory he has, he WILL always remeber NOT to EVER do that again....OUCH !

Could have been worse.This happened to me 1/2/11.Please be carefull if you decide to shoot a crossbow.

Ouch! Makes me glad I stick with a compound bow: Can't hit a deer with it, but at least I have my thumbs! lol

I was sighting in one for a customer and was holding it in the offhand as I held an M-16 in the Marine Corps. Doesn't work that way! I was lucky enough to just get by with a lot of pain and some numbness for a while. I've seen this happen a lot with crossbows. Please be carefull. Always look at your fingers before you shoot!
