Inshore Fishing in Southeast Louisiana

Point Aux Chenes (FYI)

I heard that the Point Aux Chenes marina was back open to the public so I went down there this pass Sunday to find out that it is open and managed to catch a limit of reds and 4 specks fishing the location canals in the Indian reservation (shrimp under a cork). I must say that B.P. was a blessing to that parking lot. They hauled in gravel and most of the docks have been redone, they even went as far as putting a covered top over one of the docks(very nice). So yes it is open and in good shape. Launch fee is $7.00. I'm looking forward to some good fishing down there in the upcoming Fall/Winter months. I hope this info is beneficial.

Thanks for your report nickyb! I'm going down there at the end of the week and I was wondering if the launch had reopen. Good to hear BP upgraded the launch.

The marina is in top shape as barry did rebuilt it after the storm. I spoke to the lady working at the marina and asked her when will the marina be back in full swing as far as snacks, drinks, bait, room rentals etc...because I'm ready to go spend a weekend and she told me that Barry is expected to be back in full swing in a couple of weeks. There are restrooms upstairs in the marina. Can't wait!!!

Yea it is nice down there. I have a camp there and know barry real well will be down the for my birthday holloween weekend. Been fishing cocodrie the whole summer and shrimping with good sucess. So I know the trout will be in my usual fall spots and as for redfish I will be in the sulfer mine area sight fishing them. If anyone fishing that weekend see a predator bass boat fishing come swing by and I could possibly point u in the rite direction for trout and redfish. Will post a report that weekend I'm there but no pics because I'm doin it over my phone. Good luck and good redfishing!
