Inshore Fishing in Fourchon / Grand Isle in Southeast Louisiana
Friend went beach crabbing a week ago on Elmer's and did well. Now I read crabbing is not allowed on Elmer's due to restrictions. Asked friend and they said beach had many people crabbing and wildlife and fisheries was present. Anyone know what the deal is? Can we crab on Elmer's or not?

I'm thinking pretty seriously about getting a kayak soon. I've come to realize that I won't be able to afford a boat for another 5 years probably... (College, life, etc..)

So I'm thinking about getting a kayak by the end of the year. One to duck hunt, inshore fish, offshore/beach fish, possibly freedive or dive from when I go to FL, etc..

I used to have a canoe that I would paddle.... Read More

this piece has appeared ever since you guys ''UPDATED'' the site, it sure makes it a pain to read any of the stories posted, it blocks the beginning of each line at a certain level it does not appear when i am reading reports or ads, is there something i can do to get rid of this or can you guys do something to relocate it???

Fishing in Louisiana
Its a sad day in Louisiana as I write this. Beloved Lake Ponchartrain that I've grown up on and spent quite a bit of my life is dying so fast its unbelievable. My second favorite area that I've fished, crabbed and trawled for the past 30 years (Bayou Bienvenue)is dying just as fast if not faster than Lake Ponchartrain. U just can't shut water flow off to a tidal area and expect it to.... Read More

Inshore Fishing in Southeast Louisiana
Hey Folks,

My family have been lucky enough to get stationed in NO for the next few years (a welcome change after several tours overseas). We are trying to determine where to live. I am from Florida and love to fish inshore, I have a small bay boat that I plan to put to work in Louisiana. I will be working out of the Corps of Engineers Office, which is pretty much downtown.

Things.... Read More

Scott Deshotel with Vesco Rental and Billy Broussard were back on the Big Bluewave today. Trout is what the guys wanted and trout is what they got!! We picked away at the fish at our first couple spots. Our third stop is where we found the motherload!! The trout were Stacked and hungry for our double rigged avocado Matrix and purple Haze Vortex Shad. We had the fish coming in 3-6 at a time.... Read More

  • First ever trout. Look at that smile
Billy Gray and his family jumped onboard the big Bluewave with me. We departed the Reel Inn in the dark headed South for trout! We were greeted with perfect conditions weather wise, but very little tide movement. Arriving on location I thought we would murder the fish like yesterday.....not!! It was pick pick pick pick. With just six fish iced down in the K2 at 7:30 I had to make a move. .... Read More

Fun day on the water with newlyweds, Ryan and Paige Frye. This trip was part of their honeymoon and man it was a blast. The wind was pretty stiff so we stayed in Bay Eloi for most of the day. We put a great box of fish together with a total of 50 specks, 2 reds, and 2 heads.

Spent a fun Saturday night in the marsh with Chris James and crew. Dirty water made the fish hard to see in our first location. Made a little move and started seeing some nice redfish, drum, sheephead and a ton of alligator garfish.

The guys hit some and missed some but it was fun and big smiles by all. A good first trip for the new dual Gator Tail rig. It is rigged and ready so please call.... Read More

We had a really great week catching redfish. I ran trips from Falgout Canal in Dularge and Sharky's landing by Lake Boudreaux and found the redfish stacked up in both areas. We all had 1/2 oz Johnson gold spoons tied on and that was all we needed. Mostly sight casting to tailing and fish pushing. Nice schools of up to 30 fish with their tails out of the water in a foot of water and some smaller.... Read More

My 1988 mercury 70 hp will crank and start fine, usually as soon as I turn the key. But once it cranks it will idle for 2-3 seconds and dies. Don't know what the problem is. Tried cranking with warm up lever up and it still does the same thing. Tried pumping bulb while after it cranked but still nothing. It was running fine less than a week before this started. Any info/ tips are appreciated.

Had pretty good morning fishing yesterday. Plenty of Reds and a few specks... But question is this... Being I am a sport fisher I am required to have all safety gear on board including running lights. Are commercial fishermen exempt from having required running lights??? I met up with an oyster boat yesterday morning which never slowed and was running in the dark without a light what so ever! .... Read More
