My buddy wanted to see if we could get his girlfriend on a big fish that she would never forget and that's just what we did. We pulled up to a deep pass and threw some poles with crab on them and some with fresh dead finger mullet. One of the mullet rods took off and she grabbed the pole. She did a great job fighting the fish, got it up to the boat then it ran and snapped the pole in half. She....  Read More

Inshore Fishing in Southeast Louisiana
I am looking for direction on the tide charts posted on Louisiana Sportsman - We enjoy fishing out of Leeville and am told it is best to fish a falling tide. My question is which of the tide charts that are posted on this website do I use for determining the water movement for the Catfish Lake side of the road around Bobby Lynns Landing?

Over the weekend Billy, Steven and their wives from Natchitoches,La joined me for some fishing out of Dularge,La. We were met with rough weather on day 1 and a tough bite on day 2. Managed to box some redfish on cracked crab and battle some big drum to release back into the water. Highlight of the trip was the boat ride back inland, definitely one to remember.

We had a couple of huge Catalpa trees on our place in Avoyelles Parish.

Someone cut them down and hauled them off. They took every last twig. It could have happened over the last two months since that's the last time we were there.

I'd like to plant some more since the memories of my long past Grandfather, my deceased Dad and my brother (also passed) and I all fished with worms....  Read More

What happens if a trooper pulls you over while riding an atv with no title but a bill of sale? If they ran the vin it wouldn't come up stolen, but would anything happen due to it not being registered?

  • Dey love shrimp

Made a Labor Day trip to Da Island today. I spent most of the summer fishing Lake Lery but over the years I've learned that the fish tend to move back towards the middle of the basin around teal season so I decided to head away from the lake today.

One thing I learned in my days as a kayak fisherman is that fish do not know where the boat launch is. Meaning- MOST of the....  Read More

It is that time of year again! Time for the Paw-Paw's Pirogues Family to get after the Gators. Looks like a rainy weekend but we are planning to give it a shot anyway. We will also be looking to see how many teal are in the area. Here are a few pics from a couple years ago. We like to run some the lines from our Pirogues. Makes the experience a little more personal.

Offshore Fishing in Louisiana
Hey everyone,

My brothers and I have been taking offshore trips on our boat for five years and we always have others go with us to help share expenses. I had a couple of people cancel out on a two day trip leaving Tuesday, 09/09, and returning on Thursday. We have all the equipment and a 45' Haterras to ride on.

Anyone that wants to go chase some tuna and anything else that will bite,....  Read More

So i ran out to the new southshore marina off chef pass despite all the rain and hard N/NE winds and it payed off. After i found them i limited out in 1.5 hrs on a matrix shad in the chicken on a chain/chart color.....  Read More

  • The black surprise
I went to my camp a few weeks ago I found my two 55 gallon drums with Five 50 pounds sacks in each of them knocked over and the sacks spear ever where . I thought it was unusual for the Coons to be able to knock over the Barrels and drag to Sacks around the camp yard .well checked a camera across the street from the camp and found the feeder flipped over on the ground .seen some mud rubbing on....  Read More

Windy Friday at the Beach. Had the pleasure of fishing with Pat, Brian, and Dan again. They have fished with me for several years now and they are a lot of fun. We started out chasing Trout in Machias and put a few in the box, but the winds made things tough and it looked like they were not gone to let up. We changed gears and ran back into the marsh to find some Reds. Our fist stop put a few....  Read More

Decided to go practice up on my top water casting for marsh bass after the rain broke this evening. Water was real muddy.. Missed 1 bass, caught 6 juve Specks. Missed another half a dozen or so that had tried to bite off more then they could chew. Didn't stop them from pop-in at it though. What a blast! Pop, pop pop, sounded like gun fire..lol

I'd say, it's safe to say....  Read More

20 mph wind and still had good bite on the inside islands and several bull reds we turned loose but the hottest action was was when the wind slowed , we got on the jetties with live shrimp. The bait stealers were not there for a change. No real big trout but in 2 hrs we had a load. I think September will be great if winds die down.

Day 2 with our Marine Corps group. Guys came from Pennsylvania, Virginia, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, Michigan, and Louisiana. The crew had a big crab and shrimp boil at the camp last night and watched the LSU game!! We departed the lodge in the dark and arrived on location to find a slow falling tide and a super slow bite. Patience and persistence were key today. We had boats all over the Du....  Read More
