This is a 1986 yamaha 50hp 3 cylinder short shaft complete with control box and cables and wiring( shift and throttle, no steering is included). Model 50 ESH. This motor was produced (and identical for parts interchange) from 84-91. It is the 2 stroke with 3 carbs model. First the bad: it has a burned piston on the bottom cyl. Otherwise it is in good shape and actually ran smooth even with low compression on the bottom cyl. I have removed the head to assess the damage. I would definitely bore the bottom cylinder and throw a new set of pistons in (oversize on the bottom of course)- total cost to put it back on the water: under $300 plus cost of bore. This is the cost for and entire rebuild kit online including full gasket set, pistons, rings, bearings, etc- everything needed to get it back right. You could maybe get away with only honing the cyls but I would personally have all 3 bored if I do keep it and rebuild it. If it does not sell, this is what I will do when I have the time, but I have other projects in line in front of it and have a running motor on my boat. Lower unit is fine, all electronics are in good working condition, carbs were just gone thru. It is electric start and electric choke and has a good stainless prop and hydrofoil stabilizer on it. It does not have power trim, never had it . It does have the lift assist cylinder. Controls work fine, cables are good, I have the key and this motor was ran a couple of weeks ago, but had no power above idle and that is what led to the discovery of low compression on the bottom cyl. I want $400 or I will leave it sitting until I have the time to fix it. It is worth far more than that in parts, the lower unit by itself sells for more than I am asking.
