Went to the icw yesterday and if it weren't for Berkeley gulp and another bait (witch I won't name so I don't sound like a salesman)I would have got skunked.thew the vudu at em and couldn't get a redfish to even check one out.not saying they won't catch fish, just don't go out and believe they're a miracle bait.

baits

No, don't tell me the vudus don't catch fish. LOL. Couple of weeks ago my friend introduced his newest bait (Vudu) while driving down to the ramp. Lots of interest in the truck. Lets just say that by the end of the trip his poles were hooked up with the familiar chartreuse beetle, his go to bait. Remember, its the fisherman that catches the fish.

'America Needs the Slack'

...they are good, but chances are production costs are less than a dollar...but the hype, transport and packageing cost is much, much greater...(ask the old folks about tin foil on a long shank hook)...a good dedication to the cause would be many under-privileged kids under 15 who can't afford a 600% profit 'could' get a free one...it sure would impress a lot of old farts w/not-so-deep pockets...cheers

Missed Point

I think a missing part of this discussion is that VuDu Shrimp is made of kelvar. This means, one bait will catch upwards toward 50 fish.

I am just a fisherman, not a salesman, nor do I get any bonus points from the company who makes the bait. In fact, I do not even know the company that makes them.

I just think all the dicussion about the expense of this bait needs to be balanced. If you buy 2 baits for $7.00 that can catch 100 or more fish, or you buy 10 baits for $7.00 that can catch 100 or more fish, you have the same cost factor.

Yes, the initial cost of a VuDu shrimp is higher, but it is the same cost per fish of any and all other baits.

Oh yeah !

A tackle box just isn't complete without a few bullet proof and fire resistant scrimps .

Question

Why is the weight on the wrong side? Shrimp do not swim forward.

...there's nutt'n like the old fashion red dot sparkle 'Beetle' put on the hook backways...(leaves the 'lead head' between the two front arms)...(hope it don't confuse a couple of fishfolks)...cheers

Question

Choupic.....I was only making a point of price conparison and durablity. But to follow your logic, you should abandon your boat, fishing poles and vehicles, because all those have some form of kelvar. Certainly you do not need a boat, a fishing pole, a truck that is bullet proof.

No disrespect, but read the post in the context it was meant and clearly made.

Sorry guys ! Just making a lil funny !!

It is the first Kevlar bait I've ever seen . I guarantee you can't light it on fire or shoot a hole through it . Lol

They say Kevlar has 5 times the tensile strength as carbon steel .

VuDu

I used them, they work, I find that they need a better hook. I caught well over 30 trout, but if u happen to hook a nice red, the hook will be gone.

Hook

After straightening the hook a couple times, it will break. Like it is, I think they are worth the money. Its amazing when the plastic will out live the hook. Keep up the good work.

critique

if the hook bends or breaks, it tells me the entreprenuer isn't a fisherman and actually has not tried or used them. But they look good--the catching fish part by the manufacturer is all spin. BTW--whatever happened to the other flash in the pan lures-- category 5 shrimp and suicide croakers ? Anyway, i do not have a paypal so i guess i have to wait for the stores to get them.

Open a paypal account and leap into the 21st century. Paypal allows you to take credit cards and pay online with confidence. I have had zero problems with paypal, paying or accepting payment over the past six years.
