Even though I'm a bit too cynical to think that these petitions ever really do much, I think Citizens United is a terrible idea and has (and will continue to) undercut the healthy functioning of our democracy. I'm always a bit dumbfounded by the support it receives from regular folk, as its function (or at least, its nasty side-effect) is to crowd out and in effect silence their voice. This isn't a left or right thing: this is just, to my mind, good ol' fashioned commonsense. Citizens United would have the founders rolling in their graves.
