Kayak Fishing in Louisiana

IFA kayak tour

I'm interested in participating in the two Louisiana stops of the IFA kayak tour. Has anyone fished any of these before? How is the format? I've fished some of the BCKFC, Lafayette Kayak, and RTB tourneys, and have had a blast. I read the IFA is a photo, release with longest red+trout combo. Any info would be appreciated.

IFA

I've fished the IFA for the last few years, both the Louisiana Division and several out-of-state.

It's a CPR (Catch,Photo,Release) format.

You enter photos of your longest trout and red from tournament day. Photos are taken on your yak, on a ruler provided by the tournament. CombineAt the captain's meeting you get a 'token' that has to be placed on the fish whenthe photo is taken. That insures that the fish are caught during the tournament.

total length wins. Also have prizes for biggest trout and biggest red. The La Division has two stops this year,Empire and Grand Isle.

Also, the Championship will be in Houma.

Here's a link to the IFA site and let me know if you have any specific questions.

Great tournaments, great prizes and tough competition.
