I am looking at buying a stainless stalker in 30-06.....the question is should I get one with BOSS or without? I have read alot of reviews online about them being loud, but really making shot groups small. Can some of you guys that have them with BOSS help me out here? I don't want to explode my ear drums! I have also heard all the rumors about how they will make your ears ring for weeks if you shoot them out of a box stand, shoot it more than once, shoot it in thick woods, etc, etc, etc......... the online reviews say stay away. What do you local La hunteres think?

I have heard rumors about the state possibly allowing airboats on the WMA next year because of the lack of accesability. Why couldn't the state have designated air boat runs like they have designated atv trails on other wma's? For those of us who have hunted there, know its thousands of acres of land that you cannot step foot on, using surface drives only! Does anyone know how to possibly get the 'air boat' ball a rolling?

I found a really good deal on a Gator Trax Pirouge. I was wondering if anyone knows how they handle? Stable? I know Paw Paw's pirouges are awesome, but this Gator Trax I found is like brand new and has all the bells & whistles.... camo, hydro turf, etc.

I am looking for a ballistic chart for Federal Fusion & Power Shok in 300 wsm. I have google searched it, looked on Federals site, & done everything that I know of, and can't find anything. I am shooting a Browning 300 ShortTrac & my rifle is currently zeroed with 180 grain Power Shok 2 inches high at 100 yards. Reason for the question is.... I put up a new stand on a sand bar and I now have over a 350 yard shot. Thanks for any help, its appreciated!

I was wondering if any of you guys knew of a dog hunting club looking for members in Southeast La, or Southwestern Mississippi? I'm looking for one that has organized hunts, that sticks to their rules, preferably draws for stands........Im tired of all the 'jump in your truck & cut 'em off' hunting clubs locally. I know Im asking for alot here, but Im just throwing it out there.....

Can anyone tell me about Ol Miss hunting club on Old River? A buddy mentioned it in conversation a couple of days ago but didn't know to many of the details. Some of my questions are....Dues? Acerage? Dogs or Still Hunting? Deer Management Program? What my buddy said it sounded pretty good, but was wondering if anyone else on here knows about it or is possibly a member?

We have had a trip planned for 3 months to stay at a friends camp in Leeville for next Fri, Sat, & Sun. Yesterday he called & cancelled on us. Can anyone reccomend a launch & place to stay? It doesn't have to be fancy, just beds & bathroom. I want to stay as far away from Grand Isle as possible because of the Tarpon Rodeo going on next weekend. Thanks !

I am SOOOOOO ready for Turkey Season! I have been deer hunting hard, almost everyday since Oct 1st. I still have 5 days of Primative, & till the 15 of February for bow. I went yesterday evening with my 444 after work, and the rain had the Turkeys out moving. I have also been watching 2 Longbeards strutting on the limb for the past 5 days...... Hurry up March!

I am thinking about selling my old BAR in 7 Mag and buying one of the new Browning Longtrac's in 30-06, but I have heard some bad stuff about the aluminum recievers and accuracy.......do any of you have one, shot one at the range, or know someone that does?

I just purchased a Remington Model 760 in 300 Savage. This rifle was made in 1954. Its a really great little gun, with a very crisp trigger. I have read abunch of stuff on the web about them. I was wondering if any of you use this round, or have any experience with it. I know it is very comparible with the 30-30, and 308 Win. I own abunch of other calibers for deer, but like the idea of killing deer with the vintage caliber......

Let me start by saying that I have several different hunting knives (K-Bar, Case, Gerber, Old Timer, Browning, Uncle Henry, & Boker.....) I want to get a good looking stag handle hunting knife with a gut hook. I seen the Silver Stag brand at Cabela's and its what I'm looking for. My question is do any of you guys have any experience with them? What do you think about the steel? How does the stag hold up when being used?

I have put a WANTED ad in the classifieds, but decided to take another stab in the dark at it in the reports section. I have searched nation wide on the phone, and on the internet for a Remington 7600 Carbine in 35 Remington. There is none to be had. I already have one 760 in 30-06, and two 7600's in 30-06, and I the pump guns are my favorite deer rifles. I do know of two 35 Carbines. My friend has them but will not part with them. If any of you have one or a full length gun and would consider getting rid of it let me know.............email or 225-921-7125 CASH IN HAND!

I have a question for some of you guys about a Skull Mount. I have done a few with peroxide, but have been told that you can use a 'bleaching' product that women use to do highlights. Its suppose to get it alot whiter. Where can you get this stuff, Wal-Mart maybe? What is the proper name of it?

I killed this 196 lb 6 point Friday evening. Its my first deer with a bow. I have a question for you guys....I fried some of the tender loin Saturday evening the same way as I always cook deer meat. It soaked in ice water over night, I trimmed all the fat off, seasoned with Tony's, dropped it in flower then deep fried it. I munched on a few pieces as I was cooking and everything was fine. When we set down and began eating thats when I noticed some of the meat tasted like fried piss. Some of the meat tasted just like it came off of a 50 lb yearling, but some would almost make you vommit. When I cleaned the deer I didn't bust the bladder, stomach, or the intestines. I removed all the glands on the tender loins also. Have any of you experienced this before? Is their anything I can do to get ride of that taste? I did notice the deer smelled kinda strong before we cleaned him...........

I had a post on here about Cross Bow Suggestions, but I think it was zapped...........Thanks to all that shared comments & their suggestions. I decided on the Horton Vision 175, it has the backwards limbs. Its VERY QUITE, fast, and light. Bass Pro tried to sell me one for $799 before tax. So I decided to check around. Archery & Fishing in Hammond wanted $725 after tax, and A-1 Archery in Central wanted $684.42 after tax, and shipping & handling! Buyers Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!! This wasn't on Tax Free Weekend either.
