Making a bow fishing trip next weekend with Marshmasters in Leeville and we are trying to decide whether or not we should bring the boat. We are staying in Leeville and would like to make a short run with the boat if we bring it. It's an 18 ft Alumacraft with a 90 so we can't go too far out. Any suggestions as to where we could go near Leeville this time of year or should we leave the boat at home and surf fish at Grand Isle or Fouchon?
Looking for some tractor work to do on weekends. Bush hogging, grading, disking, seeding, etc. I can do food plots from start to finish. Live in Clinton. Will travel a reasonable distance. Call/text 225-229-4027 for estimates.
I am trying to plan a trip to Venice sometime this year with family from Florida. We would like to catch some reds and trout. When would the best time of year be to make a trip?
I finally got a chance to hunt somewhere other than the 5 acres we live on for the first time this year and it paid off. I saw 2 bucks Monday morning. The first came out on the edge of the cutover I was hunting about 7:15 am. It had 4 on one side but only one on the other. I decided to pass it up. I'm glad I did b/c at 10:05 the 8 pt came out of the woods about 75 yards to my right. I didn't give it a chance to make it all the way out in the cutover. It weighed 176 lbs with a 14 inch inside spread and 21 inch main beams.
Marshmasters is definitely the way to go. I will never go with anyone else. I've been 5-7 time and we shot our limit of reds every time except for once when we had mechanical issues. I think that was before they bought the new boats. We are going next Saturday. Can't wait.
I wouldn't waste my time at Old River right now. Go to this site for the river stages: http://www.riverwatch.noaa.gov/forecasts/ORNRVAORN.php. The MS River flows into Old River when the Baton Rouge stage is about 15 ft and above. When the MS flows in and is rising, it's not worth a trip. When it is dropping later in the spring and the water temperature rises the fish will start biting. I would definitely try False River right now if you are going to choose one.
He weighed 176 lbs (about 140 gutted). His body was slim but his neck was definitely swollen. He was walking fast when I first saw him. Looked like he was looking for a doe. I used 'the can' doe bleat no more than 20 minutes before. I wouldn't be surprised if he was looking for it. He smelled like he was rutting.

How did you do? Considering going for a day soon.
Dont even crank the motor. Troll from the South Landing and follow the bank to the left and fish the coves. Watch for wasp nests.
