Your right. We are afraid if we stop feeding, the deer will go to our neighbors. We just have to be better hunters. Also, has anyone ever seen a larger 7 point than this one?
Yes, he is a big buck, but as seen in the picture he even tries to hid from the trail cam at night. I have not seen any of the bucks hunting that I have seen on the cam. strike that-no bucks seen.
That makes sense. We have 8 members, but only 4 are regular hunters. 80% of the time you have the place to your self. Therefore pressure can not be the main culprete. The best year we have had in years was 3 years ago when the acorn crop was bad and deer were hiting our corn heavier. Maybe there is too much food for them. They just stand up, eat, and lay back down. Maybe tomarrow I will go cut down all of our oaks and have a control burn to take care of the browse.
We use the plots and feed to try to hold more deer. Most of the time we hunt elsewhere. Running dogs is not allowed. Most/all hunters walk in to hunt. Only use ATVs to get deer out or bring food in. Maybe ya'll are right, just a bad year.
All I know is less to no deer seen. Hunters are allowed to kill too many deer. Gun season too long. In the midwest(where the big bucks live). They have limited to no high power rifle seasons. Some only allow you to kill 1-2 deer. I have hunted in Kansas and Ohio. When the weather is right we would see plenty of bucks. It is nice to go to your stand knowing a b/c could walk out any time.
Our state needs to make a decision, meat hunting or trophy hunting.
Stick with the model 700, can't go wrong with it
I now have to wipe the drewl off of my keyboard.
true
possibly as acorns sour and brouse dies, and you are not corning enough to satisfy them, the deer move to where there is more food this time of year.
way to plagiarize the epa website luckyman
I worked the area for 4 year and yes lots of good deer, and yes lots of gun fire, explosions, and plant noise now.
