That’s a good thing made necessary by the ever-increasing number of feral hogs. Greg Hackney Goes Redneck Squirrel Hunting

Sometimes you just have to go old school to make an entertaining show and that’s exactly what Sportsman TV did on this latest episode. The guys got together and did an old fashioned squirrel hunt with a top notch squirrel dog named Sue Bob. Sue Bob kept her nose to the ground in this episode and provided the hunters with plenty of opportunities at bushy tailed tree rats.

Shot placement

No turkey hunting in March

Yes, that’s right — for the first time in the lifetime of this author there is no turkey hunting in Louisiana in March. Of course, I grew up hunting in North Louisiana in the 60s and there were no turkeys to hunt in those days. LDWF was trying to restock birds in that area but for various reasons, the restocking effort was not working.

Insane Blast and Cast Hog Hunt

Venice, Louisiana is one of the top filming destinations for Sportsman TV. Over the last 5 seasons, Greg Hackney and Producer Jared Serigne have a filmed a number of episodes in Venice ranging from bass fishing, duck hunting, redfish, red snapper and tuna fishing. The crew has always had a good time and gotten their episodes done when they go to Venice. This episode was no different. For this show they hooked up with Capt. Kevin Drury of Limitless Waterfowl Outfitters. Kevin took Greg and Jared for a Venice style adventure in his Gator Tail boat and motor.

Sentences handed down for duck limit violations in New Orleans, Venice

Seven men in two separate cases pleaded guilty to migratory game bird violations earlier this month for shooting over the limit of ducks on Oak Island in New Orleans East and in Venice, according to a press release from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

LDWF officially bans supplemental deer feeding in three Northeast La. parishes

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission on Thursday approved a declaration of emergency to cease supplemental deer feeding in East Carroll, Madison and Tensas parishes effective Monday, March 5.
