this is my first year hunting the spillway and my whole lease is deep under water. i hunt about 4-5 miles south from I10 and it looks like theres no ridges high enough on my lease its all abou 5 foot under water. im takin my pirouge out there again this weekend hopefully i find some high ground. anyone else hunt right off of bayou maringuin? any high ridges or should i find somewhere else to try to kill a deer?

Whats up Paul? Its Danny. Looks like yall might be sunk again this year, huh?
I remember it was that way a couple yrs ago. You can always come hunt w/me. I have 48 acres all to my self. We get some water, but nothing like what yall get. There are place swe cross that takes hip boots, or a good 4 wheeler, but thats it.

.
hunted in ramah mid 80's as a young apprentice to my brother. now keep in mind i was young, i kinda thought it was cool to go to your stand in a bateau and see the dogs run in water pushing deer every where. now that i am older i would avoid the high water at all cost. it is nice now just to wear basic boots for hunting instead of chest waders, and not worry about water ending the season...
