Incident occurred in Mississippi Bayou, LDWF says
A 54-year-old Garyville man died early Monday in a frogging accident on Mississippi Bayou in St. John the Baptist Parish, according to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
Nelson Trosclair’s body was recovered shortly after 3 a.m. this morning after he was ejected from the 17-foot flat bottom boat he was riding in when it hit a submerged tree, the release states.
Two other men on the boat tried to rescue Trosclair, but were unsuccessful and called 911 for assistance.
He was not wearing a life jacket when the accident occurred, according to the release.
