New lures for winter reds

It’s common knowledge that gold spoons work well when banging the banks or sight-fishing for reds. And Keweenaw Tackle Company’s new Fin Wing slips through the water seductively.

The lure comes in a variety of colors and ¾- and 1-ounce weights.

But the trailing treble hook should be replaced with a saltwater single hook when fishing in grass to lesson the chance of tangles.

Egret Baits also has introduced its Mambo Mullet swim bait, which has a reverse hydro-cupped tail that causes the lure to dance and shake.
