Greentree reservoir on Dewey Wills WMA closed for opening day of duck season

Water control structure malfunction will prevent adequate water by Nov. 21, LDWF says

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is advising waterfowl hunters who use the greentree reservoir at Dewey W. Wills Wildlife Management Area that lack of water will make it unavailable when the state’s East Zone opens on Nov. 21.

The 400-acre reservoir bordering Saline Lake had a malfunction in its water control structure, and repairs are underway now to fix the problem, according to a news release.

Dewey W. Wills WMA is located in the southern portion of LaSalle and Catahoula parishes in central Louisiana, about 20 miles northeast of Alexandria.
