Grand Isle’s Hurricane Hole Marina to host 2015 Tuna Challenge

$50,000 winner-take-all event scheduled for Sept. 24-26

The all-new Hurricane Hole Marina on Grand Isle is hosting a winner-take-all Tuna Challenge in September featuring up to a $50,000 first prize.

The tournament, slated for Sept. 24-26, is limited to the first 25 boats to register with a $500 nonrefundable deposit, and the total entry fee is $2,000 per boat. The $1,500 entry fee balance must be paid by Sept. 22.

Festivities get started on Thursday, Sept. 24 at the captain and crew party starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Cat 5 Bar and Grill at the marina.

Boats can depart for fishing on Friday, Sept. 25 at 6 a.m., and weigh-ins will be conducted at the marina on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m.

Hurricane Hole Marina is located at 1851 Highway 1 on Grand Isle. The tournament’s cash award is based on 25 boats entered in the tournament.
