LDWF kicks off ‘License to Win Sweepstakes’ on June 1

Monthly prize drawings will be held for anglers who purchase annual saltwater licenses

Starting Monday, your saltwater fishing license might be more valuable to you than just helping you to avoid a ticket.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is rewarding anglers who purchase an annual  saltwater license with the opportunity to win monthly drawings for YETI ice chests, gear from Shimano and gift cards from Whole Foods, Academy Sports and Outdoors and Texaco.

One angler will take home the grand prize: A 22-foot bay boat, trailer and motor donated by Venice Marina, Mercury Outboards and Gerald’s Trailer Depot.

To qualify, all you have to do is purchase your saltwater license and provide a valid email address, then respond to the verification email or phone call from LDWF to validate your contact info.

“We are fortunate Louisiana anglers understand and engage in many of the complex issues surrounding fishery management,” LDWF Secretary Robert Barham said.  “When the department developed our robust and accurate recreational fishing survey system, LA Creel, our anglers stood by our decisions, including a saltwater license fee increase to fund the program. We hope ‘License to Win’ shows them how much we appreciate their support.”

Last August, the price of an annual Louisiana saltwater fishing license increased from $15 to $22.50.
