Gator Trax Boats

After making a name in the mud boat industry for more than 14 years, Gator Trax Boats have moved into the mainstream and are building boats intended to be powered by standard outboards.

By doing things their way rather than whatever is easier or less expensive, the Gator Trax name has become synonymous with quality and performance in outboard-powered boats, just as it is in the mud boat industry.

The plan at Gator Trax is to build high-quality, shallow-water boats and let the customer pick the power, which can include outboards to 250 horsepower on some models.

There are several standard models and standard floor plans from 15 to 24 feet, but there are also options to customize anything so it meets the needs of the owner.

Gator Trax Boats begin with thicker aluminum hulls that feature longitudinal bracing and goes from there. Rounded chines, angled transoms, smooth bottoms and airboat-style rakes are standards with Gator Trax.

They believe there is a world of difference between a boat built to perform in shallow water and mass-produced john boats, crappie boats, and duck boats, even if they are painted camo. By building boats one at a time, Gator Trax can work with their customers to construct everyone’s ideal boat.

Gator Trax builds every model to withstand constant use as a mud boat, and guarantees them to do it. It’s up to the owner to decide what he wants to do and how to power his boat.

Because hulls are built with each order and floor plans with options are added for each customer, only estimated dates of completion can be given. From December to March this is typically two to four weeks, while April to June completion is usually four to six weeks. From July to November is really busy, and waits have been up to 11 weeks.

Their suggestion is to order in advance whenever possible.
