A New Orleans man pleaded guilty to illegally selling gamefish on Tuesday in municipal court in Orleans Parish, according to a press release from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Paul Haptonstall, 35, was sentenced to 120 days in prison suspended and fined $3,730.80 for illegally selling gamefish, the release states.

LDWF agents cited Haptonstall on June 13 of this year after receiving complaints about him selling redfish in the New Orleans area. 

According to the release, Haptonstall sold a  total of 11 black drum, three sheepshead, two speckled trout, two catfish and 138 redfish to undercover agents during the investigation.
