LDWF seeks help in ID’ing ski boat involved in hit-and-run accident

Incident happened Saturday on Amite River Diversion Canal

Agents with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are seeking your help in identifying a ski boat involved in a hit-and-run accident on the Amite River Diversion Canal Saturday evening.

The incident happened near the Tiki Hut when one ski boat was rear-ended by another ski boat, with the second vessel leaving the scene of the accident without stopping, according to a press release.

An eyewitness said a yellow and white ski boat with a black stripe was seen speeding in the area, and agents believe it could be the second boat involved. If it is, it should have substantial damage to the hull, the release states.

The three passengers of the boat that was run over, which did have its running lights on at the time of the incident, were treated for minor injuries and released.
