Hackney stays hot on Chickamauga Lake

Gonzales angler and Sportsman TV host in 3rd place after Day 2 of Bassmaster BASSfest

Greg Hackney’s hot streak continued in Tennessee Thursday during Day 2 of BASSfest at Chickamauga Lake as he caught the day’s third-heaviest sack and currently sits in 3rd place.

The Bassmaster Elite Series pro from Gonzales has a two-day total of 44-13, and trails only Jacob Wheeler (52-3) and Kevin VanDam (45-7) on the leader board.

Hackney’s five fish on Thursday weighed 24-8, which followed Wednesday’s solid day of five fish for 20-5.

The Top 50 will have the day off tomorrow during BASSfest’s special schedule, as the bottom 90 anglers will fish a one-day elimination tournament on nearby Lake Nickajack.

Friday’s Top 10 on Nickajack will rejoin the Top 50 and fish Saturday on Chickamauga Lake, with the normal Top 12 fishing on Day 4 on Father’s Day.

Louisiana anglers Cliff Crochet and Dennis Tietje will be headed to Nickajack tomorrow – Crochet is currently in 85th place with a total weight of 19-11, and Tietje is in 95th place with 17-4.
