ALBC hosts Youth Fishing Tournament June 7 on Henderson Lake

Register in-person at Cypress Cove Landing, $10 entry fee per child

The Association of Louisiana Bass Clubs Youth Fishing Tournament will be held Saturday, June 7 out of Cypress Cove Landing at Henderson Lake.

Entry fee will be $10 per child, with four divisions: bass, crappie, bream and “rough fish.”

“Rough fish is pretty much anything but bass, bream and sac-a-lait,” said Ronnie Cooper, vice president of ALBC. “In other words, catfish, gar or anything else they might catch.”

There will be two age divisions: 3-9 and 10-15.

Blastoff will be at safe daylight, and the scales at Cypress Cove close at noon.

All participants will be receive a ditty bag of prizes and a participation medallion, and lunch will be provided.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st through 3rd place in all four categories and in both divisions, he said. Door prizes, including several bicycles, also will be given away.

The $10 entry fee applies to children only: parents do not have to pay, and can fish with more than one child, Cooper said.

You can pick up registration forms at area landings, both Academy Sports and Outdoors stores in Lafayette, or you can register in person at Cypress Cove now through Saturday morning.

For more information,  call Cypress Cove at 337-228-7484 or Ronnie Cooper at 234-0601.
