Two Louisiana anglers make Top 50 at Bassmaster Elite on Toledo Bend

Crochet, Hackney make the cut and advance to fish on Saturday

Two of the three Louisiana Bassmaster Elite Series pros advanced to the Top 50 in the Evan Williams Bourbon Bassmaster Elite event at Toledo Bend.

Cliff Crochet, of Pierre Part, caught five fish Friday for 13-15 and a two-day total of 35-9, good enough for 14th place.

Greg Hackney, of Gonzales, also caught five fish Friday for 12-15 with a two-day total of 30-4, which put him in 42nd place.

Roanoke’s Dennis Tietje had a second consecutive disappointing day at the Bend, catching five fish for 10-6 and a two-day total of 22-4. He finished in 92nd place.

Jacob Powroznik of Port Haywood, Virginia holds the lead at the halfway point after a five-fish bag Friday for 23-6 and a two-day total of 48-4.

The Top 50 will blastoff tomorrow morning at 6:20 a.m., with public viewing available at Cypress Bend Park.

Official semi-finals weigh-in for Day 3 begins Saturday afternoon at 3:15 p.m.
