Joseph Harbor boat launch set to reopen on Saturday, April 12, LDWF says
Modifications to the back down ramps at the Joseph Harbor boat launch off La. Hwy. 82 at the Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge in Grand Chenier are complete, and the facility is set to reopen Saturday morning, according to a press release from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
The same repairs will be made to the East End Locks, also accessible off La. Hwy. 82, and that launch will be closed from April 14 through May 2, the release states.
The closure at the East End Locks includes both the boat launch and the parking area.
The modifications are being done to allow the public to launch in low tide conditions, according to the release.
Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge is located in eastern Cameron and western Vermilion Parishes.
