Ardent introduces Apex reels at 2014 Bassmaster Classic

New line of reels offers professional quality at reasonable price

Ardent reels are known for their bullet-proof constructio, and its new Apex line continues that tradition.

The reels offer the perfect balance of light weight, comfort and durability. Each model in the line features high-strength aluminum frames, and between 8 and 12 ball bearings for silky-smooth operation.

The top level of Apex reels is the Elite, which includes 12 plus 1 ball bearings, offering enhanced castability and smoothness. It also has a dee V 6061 T6 machined aluminum spool, and swept-back carbon fiber handle with EVA grips. It also has a 270-degree Mag brake system, and weighs a slight 5.9 ounces.

The Ardent Apex Elite is a 6.5:1 ratio, and comes in right- and left-hand models. MSRP is $149.99.

The Apex Pro features 10 plus 1 ball bearings, the same machined aluminum spool and brake system as the Elite reels, and a swept-back forged aluminum star drag. It weighs only 6.3 ounces, and retails for $129.99

The Apex Tournamanet is the best value in a high-performance baitcasting reel. With a high-strength aluminum fram, and the machined aluminum spool, brake system, handle and star drag as the Elite. It includes 8 plus 1 ball bearings, and weighs only 6.3 ounces. It retails for $99.99
