LDWF announces annual Caney Creek Reservoir public meeting

Overview on aquatic vegetation issues scheduled for Jan. 23 at Jimmie Davis State Park Conference Center

Biologists with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will hold a public hearing to discuss issues on the Caney Creek Reservoir, including an overview on aquatic vegetation and results of recent fish population sampling.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. in the Jimmie Davis State Park Conference Center in Chatham, according to a press release.

Since 2006, when LDWF established a comprehensive management plan for the reservoir, annual public hearings are held to provide updates on fisheries management issues, aquatic vegetation and ongoing projects.

The meeting is open to the public, and all persons interested in the conservation and management of Caney Creek Reservoir are invited to attend.
