Frank Davis, the iconic New Orleans outdoorsman and chef who appeared on WWL-TV for more than 30 years, died Monday night at the age of 71.

Frank Davis, the iconic New Orleans outdoorsman and chef who appeared on WWL-TV for more than 30 years, died Monday night at the age of 71.

Frank Davis, who appeared on WWL-TV in New Orleans for more than 30 years, died on Monday at the age of 71, according to media reports.

Legendary for his Tuesday morning appearances from the station’s kitchen, Davis also appeared frequently in his “Fishin’ Game Report” segement, as well as in “Naturally N’Awlins” reports capturing the local color and flavor of the Big Easy.

According to WWL, he retired in 2011 after being diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy, an automimmune disease that can occur at any age.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
