If there is anything that can complicate your fishing it’s color charts. With so many colors to choose nowadays, some anglers are left scratching their heads.
“Whatever happened to a motor-oil worm?” Jason Pittman asked. “You can only do so much with watermelon and whatever color flake you want to put in it, and it seems like everything that can be done with colors has been done.”
Pittman believes he’s starting to see a trend back to what he called old-school colors.
“For me, I’m catching fish now on colors that I might have used 10 or 15 years ago,” he said.
“Mister Twister is coming out with some old-school stuff in some regular colors to give fish something new to look at, in a sense.”
In fact, a quick look at the Mister Twister color chart for their Phenom worm shows colors like brown, grape, purple, black and motor oil.
“And they’re coming out with a 10-inch worm that has some old-school look,” Pittman said. “Nothing fancy — just a big worm in some colors that you wouldn’t see from other companies.”
