Body of missing Ouachita River angler found
The body of a 64-year-old Monroe man who was reported missing Thursday (Sept. 20) was found Saturday (Sept. 22), the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries reported.

LDWF enforcement agents and Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies had been searching for Charles Trascher after he failed to return from a fishing trip, the LDWF said.

Trascher was reported missing shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday, and authorities recovered his 17-foot aluminum boat in the Ouachita River near West Monroe that evening.

Agents and deputies searched for Trascher throughout the night Thursday and all day Friday. His body was found around 6:30 a.m. Saturday without a personal flotation device about one mile south of where his vessel was found.

LDWF had two sonar units on scene to assist in the search.  LDWF will be the lead investigative agency for this boating incident.
