Dove-hunting shooting hours clarified
Information printed in 2012-13 Louisiana Hunting Regulations wrong, LDWF says.
Shooting hours for dove hunting have been clarified by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries.
The shooting-hours note on page 28 of the printed regulations booklet indicates Sept. 3 is the exception to the standard rule that shooting can start a half hour before sunrise and continue until sunset.
Instead, the note should read that, for mourning doves, shooting hours are one-half hour before sunrise to sunset EXCEPT on Sept. 1, when shooting hours will be 12 p.m. (noon) to sunset.
This correction has been made in the online version of the 2012-13 Louisiana Hunting Regulations booklet posted on the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Web site.
