Christopher Rollins was the second victim of the accident; the body of 22-year-old William R. Druilhet Jr. was recovered Saturday morning, the LDWF said.
The two men were reported missing some time after 10 p.m. Friday evening by family members, who said they last heard from the anglers shortly before that time, the LDWF said.
LDWF agents, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Coast Guard began the search, finding the men’s 16-foot boat on the west bank of Lake Charles about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday. Druilhet’s body was found shortly thereafter near the boat.
Rollins’ body also was found near the boat.
Druilhet was wearing a PFD, while Rollins was not, LDWF said.
Both bodies of Druilhet and Rollins were turned over to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office to determine a cause of death. LDWF will be the lead investigative agency for this boating crash incident.
